EMS Final Project
Well, Connor and I must have spent over 50 hours of work on this thing… about 3 all-nighters and five cups of coffee per night… Well, that was me anyway. Regardless, I’m really happy with the way this turned out, and I’m extremely proud of it.
My animation for Concept Studio!

This took too many hours to make. I’m somewhat proud of it too! Yeeeahaahaahaahaahahaahaha
The assignment: Burgess originally assigned us to make a soundscape of our minds; in other words, he wanted us to create a mashup of sound that we believed represented the inner workings of our minds. Using sounds from the CDs in the CMU library, I created my soundtrack in audacity and tweaked it in GarageBand (gotta love Macs for that nifty Garageband…). Next, we were to bring the music into tangibility and create a video that mirrored our “mind music.” Created in Flash, the following animation is what I came up with… To be honest, it’s a bit of a drug trip, but it grows on you after a while. =)
…heehee and yes I reused my horse animation for BeeStruction! I loveeeee my horseeeeeyyyyy ^_^
Green screeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen
This is me in front of the CFA green screen, spinning on a chair, and wearing Gina’s jacket. Nice. Gotta love the dancing gypsies in the back! Yeeehehehheheheheheheheheheheheheheeheeheheheheheeeeeeeeeee
Galloping horsey!!
Hahahahaha… the galloping version of my little horsey (the trotting one is a bit further down). I animated the motion of this little guy from memory, without looking at anything. I’m starting to enjoy Flash more and more each time I use it. It’s like crack! The possibilities are endless!
This animation appears somewhat slower because it’s comprised of about twice as many frames as the trotting one. If I can figure out how to make it appear to be going the same speed as the other one, that would be kinda awesome, but for now this is what I’ve got. However, It doesn’t really matter anyway since the programmers for BeeStruction can adjust the speeds of the animals to whatever they choose once they insert the animations into the game. So yay! =D
AMAZING stop animations!
Tony vs Paul
This made me LOL. But seriously, this stop animation is absolutely incredible. I can only imagine the time that these fellows must have pumped into this thing. I have a feeling that most of my classmates in EMS are going to link to this animation as well, but it’s well worth it. This is a must see! =D
As an aside, here’s what the creators of Paul vs Tony said about the video:
FAQ’s
1. The video took two months to film and edit.
2. The music is available here:
http://www.myspace.com/christopherleedonovan3. Nothing is fake and no green screens were used. The only computer animated part was the letters falling on the page.
4. Yes, we really did jump all those times.
5. I edited it with Final Cut Pro
6. The camera we used was a Canon GL1 with both digital stills being taken, and footage being shot.
7. It was filmed in Massachusetts in the following towns: Arlington, Medford, Upton, Gloucester
8. There are 4,000+ still shots in the video.
Sorry I’m Late
And here’s another great stop animation utilizing props and a controlled set to its advantage. Pay extra attention to the ending credits – they show how they created the video, which really gets the point across that this type of animation requires a ton of meticulous care (although all types of animation do require are as well!!). Anyhow, this video is really good stuff. Watch it and enjoy!
Random cute puppy video ^_^
Heehee I found this on YouTube and I thought it was so cute!!!
56 seconds of pure cuteness!!!!!! heeheheheheheeeeeeee
Animation of sound collage…
Click here to watch my insane flash animation.
OMG click here to watch my FIXED animation… Well, “fixed” as in I tried to follow Golan’s suggestions from class. Now the blood continues running down the screen, and I dumbed down the real-life images of the car accidents with color tints so they aren’t as apparent. =)
My horseyyyy
This is the horse I made for my GCS group project, BeeStruction. He just keeps trotting and trotting and trotting and trotting and trotting and trotting…
Anyways, this is just about the extent of my Adobe Flash capabilities at the moment… making cute little animals walk and run, ultimately to meet their demise at the collective wills of a thousand sadistic bees.
You can check out more at gamecreation.org if you’re interested! The final game should be completed around the end of the semester. =)
A Nice Flash Animation =D
Yep… I love the style of this flash animation. Hopefully I can do something that somewhat resembles it xD
Hahahahahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaa
The Peace Tape
A super psychedelic and subliminal video by Jacob Ciocci, who taught us Flash in EMS class. I love this video – it definitely delves into the subconscious of youth and all of the unseen messages that we get from the media when growing up.
Sound Collage
Herrrre is my sound collage:
Concerning the personal background of this collage, I modeled it after the many I dreams I tend to have about crashing in cars. Although I don’t have the dreams as often as I used to, they tended to be extremely nightmarish and somewhat traumatizing. I think the sound collage echoes the fact that the dreams always have periods of silence/muffled noise followed by loud, shocking crashing sounds. Very odd, to say the least…
Anyway, as for the technical side of the collage, I guess the one point of interest is that the muffled noise in the background is actually the sound of an oriole chirping. I warped the sound by slowing it down and changing the tempo, creating a somewhat hellish drone that serves as a perfect backdrop to my “crash nightmare.”
